Airborne completes the wimax mesh puzzle "At Airborne Networks, we are focussed on delivering the best Network Infrastructure for the end users experience at the lowest possible cost to network operators."

WiMax Mesh - Thinking Outside In

Outside in thinking We have developed our patented WiMax mesh architecture for what we call the “Outside In” network. This means network access at high bandwidth, available as close as possible to the end user, delivering better Quality of Service and increased battery life for devices.

In a traditional cellular network, typically 60% of infrastructure cost lies in the radio access network. WiMax Mesh offers the opportunity to reduce these costs drastically, and yet many manufacturers offer WiMax solutions which do not take full advantage of this opportunity.

Airborne’s WiMax Mesh solution delivers approximately 40% CAPEX savings per site in urban deployments, compared to a WiMax cell based architecture. For rural deployments, the Airborne solution can deliver CAPEX savings of up to 80%.

Solutions for education and campus networks

Education Networks

Schools are evolving rapidly under 4 simultaneous pressures:

  • The need to that everyone has access to education regardless of where they live or their economic circumstances
  • The growth of online learning resources and electronic learning content
  • Continued pressure on education budgets
  • The need to co-operate as schools consortia
The Airborne Evolution WiMax Mesh offers Educational institutions the chance to enhance access to local or web based content cost-effectively via a private network, starting small and growing incrementally without expensive mobile access charges or ISP costs for students. Our architecture allows sharing of the network, opening the possibility of revenue generation to fully fund the build and maintenance.
